To Know the Truth, Shawn Fair

Although I received the Lord into my heart as a junior in high school, it was not until 1986, ten years later, that the Lord Jesus convicted my heart to forsake my former manner of living and to live for the Lord. As my hunger to know the Lord increased, I found an independent Baptist group, in Connesville, PA. For two years, as a member of that group, I studied the Word and learned from the believers there, primarily from the Scofield Reference Study Bible. I owe a lot to these believers in preparing me to follow the Lord.

While purchasing supplies to teach a Sunday school class, I happened on a book that brought serious accusations against a man named Witness Lee and also against the local churches. I purchased the book to learn more, as my cousin was attending the meetings of the local church in Pittsburgh, PA.

I visited my cousin in Pittsburgh soon afterwards to determine first hand if the things spoken against Witness Lee's writings were accurate. As I observed the meetings I became convinced that the allegations were untrue and even libelous. The teachings in the local church were grounded in the Word of God and their meetings closely resembled the meetings of the early church as referenced in the book of Acts.

Today I can testify that I have been greatly helped by the teachings of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee in knowing how to contact God and being filled with Him to carry out His purpose on the earth today.
